Final programming selections are made by April 1 for the Labor Day Weekend festival.
The Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events is accepting musical submissions from established jazz musicians from October 1-December 1, 2017 for consideration to perform at the Chicago Jazz Festival. The festival's priority is to showcase the best Chicago talent alongside national and international artists - to promote awareness and appreciation for all forms of jazz.
Material will only be accepted electronically. Submissions may be sent to JazzFestival@cityofchicago.org. All material received will be reviewed by the Chicago Jazz Festival Programming Committee who is responsible for all final selections. Artists selected to perform will be contacted directly by the festival. Previous year submissions are not held - you will need to re-submit materials to be considered.
Please understand the Chicago Jazz Festival receives many more submissions than we can program. The festival is committed to presenting a wide and varied lineup. We are continually faced with hard choices involving artists we would love to book but simply don't have space for, this in no way signifies a lack of appreciation for the work.
Thank you for complying with these guidelines. We appreciate your interest in participating in the Chicago Jazz Festival.
