Dia de los Muertas Celebration

Día de los Muertos Celebration

Commemorate the Day of the Dead with family friendly fun include a mural dedication, traditional arts and crafts, pumpkin decorating, DJs, live music and more!

Event Schedule:

  • 10:30am: Mural Dedication at the corner of Roosevelt and Desplaines (on the I. Weinberg Hosiery Co. building – 632 W. Roosevelt). “Road to Paradise” or “Camino al Paraíso”, created by Josue Aldana, displays the narrative of the Maxwell Street Market and the story of the migrant workers through the usage of surrealist folklore of Mexico.


  • 11am–2pm: Día de los Muertos Celebration at Maxwell Street Market will include an ofrenda (altar) making workshop, pumpkin decorating, live band, DJ and more.
