Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood has become one the city’s biggest destination neighborhoods with its artsy, cultural vibe. A reflection of the eclectic and vibrant community each year is the Pilsen Food Truck Social, when over 25 of Illinois’ most popular food trucks roll up onto 18th street with a plethora of mobile delicacies. As its eponymous name suggests, food trucks are the centerpiece at this neighborhood street fest, but the attractions don’t end there. At Pilsen Food Truck Social 2018 June 9th and 10th, continuous live music programmed by the legendary Thalia Hall next door will keep the crowd entertained with local bands of the highest caliber, plus the local record store 606 Records keep the cool beats spinning between bands. A number of Pilsen restaurants also participate in the event including Honky Tonk BBQ, Dia De Los Tamales, Azul 18 and Dusek’s Board and Beer. A $20 Sampler Ticket will allow fest-goers to stroll around and try six sample-sized portions from any food truck or Pilsen area restaurant onsite. All food and beverages will also be available for regular individual cash purchase. A percentage of proceeds from the event benefits St Procopius Church Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry and Illinois Food Truck & Trailer Owner Association.
