The 35th/Halsted TIF district was created to provide incentives for a broad range of new construction and rehabilitation projects within the Bridgeport community. In addition to targeting commercial and industrial properties, revenue from the 518-acre district will be used to improve the circulation of trucks and commuter traffic that use the area’s heavily traveled transportation corridors. It is also intended to preserve and enhance neighborhood housing stock while reinforcing the health, safety and general welfare of area residents.
