Stockyards Annex TIF

Designation: 1996    Expiration: 2020

Comprising a portion of the former Union Stockyards in the New City community, the Stockyards Annex TIF is characterized by industrial and commercial properties and vacant land. The east portion of the district  is targeted for building rehabilitation and new construction projects, environmental improvements, and a variety of roadway upgrades to facilitate access from I-90/94. The west portion is within the Stockyards Industrial Corridor and possesses several large sites suitable for new large-scale industrial projects. Priorities for both areas include public infrastructure improvements, land assembly initiatives and relocation assistance. Job training is also supported by the TIF, as is the creation of low- and very low-income housing within select portions of the district.
