Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced today that the City of Chicago will be hosting a job fair on Friday, November 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kennedy King City College in the facility located at 740 W. 63rd Street, Chicago, 60621. The job fair will be conducted in partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, the Chicago Park District, and Chicago Housing Authority. There are currently hundreds of jobs available with the City of Chicago and Sister Agencies.

“I am deeply committed to making sure every Chicagoan finds consistent and stable work,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “This job fair will give residents the opportunity to apply onsite for these good jobs with assistance from city officials. We will continue to conduct these job fairs as we work to get Chicagoans employed.”

At the job fair, applicants will have the opportunity to apply online for City of Chicago jobs or learn how to use the CAREERS online application system. Additionally, several workshops and presentations on resume writing, interviewing skills, and online application tutorials will be held on a first come, first serve basis.

“I am excited for this new opportunity to present information about available jobs at the City and its sister agencies and the City’s online application system.” said Soo Choi, Commissioner, Department of Human Resources Commissioner.  “It is my hope that we will be able to reach and recruit individuals who otherwise might not have applied for these jobs and in the process, strengthen and diversify our workforce.”

City Colleges of Chicago will also be running an adjunct faculty career fair from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. at Kennedy King City College on November 9, 2012.
