Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that the City of Chicago will again host a watch party on Thursday evening for friends, families and neighbors of the Jackie Robinson West All Stars. They will play the winners of the Nevada vs. Philadelphia matchup in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

“The courage to persevere and the hard work displayed by Jackie Robinson West and Coach Darold Butler yesterday and throughout this Series exemplifies the very best of what we hope from and for our children. In every neighborhood across Chicago, people are coming together to cheer on this team because of their spirit, their positive attitude and their success on the field. I can't wait to root on our All Stars when they take the field again on Thursday."

The watch party will again be held at Jackie Robinson Park. The game will be shown live on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. in the outdoor area of the park. An inclement weather plan will be set for the auditorium of Mt. Vernon Elementary School at 10540 South Morgan Street, directly north of Jackie Robinson Park.

The Jackie Robinson West All Stars -- comprised of 11- and 12-year-olds from South and Southwest side communities such as Auburn Gresham, Englewood, Chatham, Morgan Park and Washington Heights -- advanced to the Little League World Series with a come-from-behind win over New Albany, Indiana.

Jackie Robinson Park is located at 10540 South Morgan Park Street. For optimal viewing, attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, but park rules apply and alcohol is not permitted.
