Mayor Rahm Emanuel and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin today sent a letter to the executives of US Steel, calling on them to keep their Portage, IN facility closed while water and soil testing continues following last week's spill of the dangerous chemical hexavalent chromium in a Lake Michigan tributary.
