The Chicago Legal Protection Fund, developed in response to President Trump’s target on immigration, celebrated a milestone this week.
The fund has to date created over 300 Community Navigators. Community Navigators help educate immigrants and refugees on their legal rights. These 300 new Community Navigators have trained over 11,000 in Know Your Rights education.
In addition, 600 immigrants and refugees have received legal help from the $1.3 million legal defense fund set up by Mayor Rahm Emanuel in December of 2016.
