National Disaster Resilience Competition

The City of Chicago was invited by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's to submit a Phase II application for the National Disaster Resilience Competition.

The City of Chicago gathered community input through ten workshops held during the months of February and September (See below). Thank you to our residents, business owners, and other stakeholders for your input throughout both the Phase I and Phase II planning processes. The public input gathered through these community workshops was considered throughout the process of developing the City's Phase II draft application.

The City of Chicago will host a public hearing on its Phase II draft application to National Disaster Resilience Competition on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.

Registration will begin at 4:30 pm. The public hearing will begin at 5:00 pm.

Facility is accessible to the mobility impaired.

Interpreters for the hearing impaired and Spanish speaking will be provided.

Community Workshops

The Chicago Resilience Team hosted a series of community workshops to discuss how greening a community can help a neighborhood and its residents recover from incidents of extreme weather, reduce damage to private property and provide additional quality of life improvements.
