Ground level work complete, Wabash Ave. reopens to two lanes and parking

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced today that construction on Wabash Ave. between Monroe and Washington Streets has been completed. Crews have removed the scaffolding with two lanes of traffic, parking and unobstructed sidewalks now open to the public.

Construction continues on the new elevated CTA station on Wabash Ave. with finishing touches taking place at the mezzanine and concourse levels. Two weekend closures will be required on Madison St. during August to complete the job.

The new CTA station on Wabash Ave. will serve the Brown, Green, Orange, Pink and Purple lines and will serve as a gateway for Millennium Park and the Loop.
