Enterprise Zone Program

The Illinois Enterprise Zone (“EZ”) program was originally established in Chicago in 1982 in order to “stimulate economic growth and neighborhood revitalization in economically depressed areas of the state through state and local tax incentives, regulatory relief and improved governmental services.” As of 2024, there are six Enterprise Zones which cover nearly 30 percent of the City.
