Archer Courts TIF

Designation: 1999    Expiration: 2023

Encompassing eight acres of the Armour Square community, the Archer Courts TIF district was created to promote a cohesive, mixed-income residential area within its borders. Priorities include the rehabilitation of more than 140 existing affordable housing units on South Princeton Avenue and the construction of new residential structures on Chicago Housing Authority property to the immediate west. The TIF is also intended to foster a small-scale commercial development on the southwest corner of Archer Avenue and Cermak Road. Additionally, TIF funds are intended to help replace or repair infrastructure at select locations, provide resources for site assembly where necessary, and increase off-street parking within the community.
