Department Of Procurement Services Releases First Official Request For Proposal (RFP) Solicitation Through eProcurement Modernization

August 7, 2017

The Department of Procurement Services today released the first official eProcurement solicitation for a Request for Proposal (RFP).

“This is a significant milestone in this transition from traditional processes to the eProcurement process.” said Chief Procurement Officer Jamie L. Rhee. “We are committed to our vendor community in helping provide new tools and resources to help make doing business with the city easier.”

eProcurement applies digital technology to the acquisition of goods and services. It will allow DPS to collaborate with City Departments to create solicitations and contracts online, greatly reducing the time it takes to complete procurements. The online web portal offers full-service resources for vendors and those interested in doing business with the City of Chicago. This tool allows users to:

  • Respond to Bids, RFPs, and RFQs online
  • View & Track payments and invoices online
  • Electronic submission of invoices

This inaugural eProcurement solicitation is for the Department of Finance, seeking a vendor to conduct its annual audit of federal grant dollars, as required by federal guidelines. This audit reaches across any and all departments that receive grant funding from the federal government, including police, fire, transportation, aviation, and many others. Responses to the RFP are due by September 19, 2017. A pre-submittal conference is scheduled for August 17, 2017, at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St., Room 1103 at 2:30 PM CST.  The RFP and related information is available at www.cityofchicago.org/bids.

Today’s announcement is the latest in a series of efforts to improve the City’s procurement process, and are a result of the Mayor’s commitment to creating a competitive, fair, and transparent procurement services for the City of Chicago.
