Request For Proposals (RFP) For Project Innovation: Originally Designed Youth Programming

The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) is pleased to announce the Project Innovation request for proposals focused on enhancing, expanding and developing programs with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math (STEAM). DFSS anticipates awarding approximately ten organizations up to $50,000. Special consideration will be given to agencies that recruit youth from high schools with high rates of truancy and youth violence and/or programs operating in the following underserved communities:

  • Ashburn
  • Auburn-Gresham
  • Belmont-Cragin
  • Brighton Park
  • Chicago Lawn
  • East Garfield Park
  • Englewood
  • Gage Park
  • Greater Grand Crossing
  • New City
  • Oakland
  • Lower West Side
  • Riverdale
  • Roseland
  • South Shore
  • Washington Park
  • West Elsdon
  • West Englewood
  • West Garfield Park
  • West Lawn
  • West Town
  • Woodlawn

Programs should serve a minimum of 33 youth in one of the following age groups: 11-13, 14-15 or 16-24. All proposed programs should be both youth driven and youth focused in their design.
