Starting today, the Pulse Dempster Line from Pace Suburban Bus will service O’Hare International Airport daily, allowing quick and frequent public transit transfers between the world’s second busiest airport and several nearby suburban communities, including Evanston, Skokie, Morton Grove, Niles, Park Ridge, Des Plaines and Rosemont.

“The Pulse Dempster Line provides a vital connection to O’Hare International Airport for our north and northwest suburban neighbors,” Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee said. “We are thrilled to welcome this convenient and frequent public transit option, which will keep thousands of travelers, workers and young people connected to the endless variety of journeys and opportunities available at O’Hare."

The service is Pace’s latest service innovation, offering faster bus service with fewer stops, accessible trip information and modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi and passenger accessibility in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Each Pulse bus that operates along the line comes equipped with advanced transit signal priority that extends green lights and minimizes red lights to help Pace riders conquer congestion.

“Pace is proud of our region’s investment in transit infrastructure in the northwest suburbs. It has made it possible for Pace to introduce this efficient and reliable service,” said Pace Executive Director Melinda Metzger. “This is yet another example of how our region’s service boards collaborate and complement each other. Pulse truly creates a network of access across our region.”

The service is available every day between 6 a.m. and 1 a.m., with rides as often as every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Rides terminate the O’Hare Multi-Modal Facility (MMF), where passengers can board the Airport Transit System (ATS) to connect to O’Hare’s four terminals. Connections at the MMF are also available to several other Pace lines and to Metra’s North Central Service.
