CDOT: 2016 Bridge Trials Scheduled For March – In Advance Of Spring Bridges Lifts

CDOT announced that from Monday, February 27 through April 4, bridges over the Chicago River will be raised and lowered to ensure they are in working order. This is in preparation for the bridge lifts scheduled for Wednesdays and weekends from mid-April through June. The following is the current schedule for daytime and weeknight closures to complete the bridge trials:


Weekday closures:

  • S. Ashland Ave. Bridge – Monday February 27, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Loomis St. Bridge – Tuesday February 28, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • S. Halsted St. Bridge – Wednesday March 1, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Cermak Road Bridge – Thursday March 2, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • S. Canal St. Bridge – Friday March 3, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • 18th St. Bridge – Tuesday March 7, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Wabash Ave. Bridge – Wednesday March 8, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Dearborn St. Bridge – Friday March 10, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Clark St. Bridge – Monday, March 13, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Franklin St. Bridge – Tuesday March 14, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Harrison St. Bridge – Wednesday, March 15, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Van Buren St. Bridge – Thursday, March 16, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Jackson St. Bridge – Monday March 20, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Monroe St. Bridge – Tuesday, March 21, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Madison St. Bridge – Wednesday March 22, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Washington St. Bridge – Thursday March 23, 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Randolph Street Bridge – Friday, March 24 from 9:30AM ‐ 2:30PM

 

Weeknight closure:

  • Roosevelt Rd. Bridge – Thursday, March 9 to Friday March 10, 10pm-2am
  • Michigan Avenue Bridge – Thursday, March 16 to Friday, March 17 from 10:00pm‐5:00am
  • State St. Bridge – Tuesday, March 7 from 8:00pm to midnight


Weekend Night closure:

  • Lake Shore Dr. Bridge – Saturday, March 18 to Sunday March 19, 10pm-5am
  • Lake St. Bridge – Sunday, March 26, 12am-5am
  • Wells St. Bridge – Sunday April 2, 12am-5am
